World Water Day 2023
Today we celebrate WATER, the most valuable resource of all!
For water researchers, this is a very special day!
The World Water Day has been established by the United Nations (UN) to raise awareness of the 2.2 billion people who live without access to safe water. It is celebrated every year, on the 22nd of March, and constitutes an inspiration (a motivation) for Sustainable Development Actions, particularly, through the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Sustainable Development, SDG 6) which engages the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation facilities for all until 2030 .
The purpose of this day, is to accelerate changes and to highlight the ever-growing need to act and to ensure the sustainable management of water resources. By encouraging these changes we can provide towards a sustainable future for our planet!
NRRE lab participates in many R&D projects, as lead partner and/or scientific partner, funded by the EU or national programmes, targeting to the development of novel technological solutions for desalination, water and wastewater treatment and pollution abatement in the principles of zero pollution, circular economy and sustainable development!
