    RESEARCH INTERESTS

    • Osmotically driven membrane processes (ODMPs) for the treatment of water resources, industrial wastewater and renewable energy production
    • Colloidal and organic fouling of forward osmosis membranes

Odysseas Baltzopoulos has a diploma in Chemical Engineering (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 2019). During his thesis in NRRE laboratory, which was based on the Forward Osmosis membrane process, he learned about the opportunities and challenges of membrane technologies regarding the treatment of water resources and fresh water production. Also, as an intern in Hellenic army’s laboratory facilities, he has participated in quality control and chemical analysis of potable water samples that originated from military bases of the surrounding area of Thessaloniki. Today, Odysseas is a PhD candidate of the department of Chemical Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His research interests focus on the technology of Osmotically Driven Membrane Processes (ODMPs), the design of experimental apparatus for ODMPs and the study of organic and colloidal fouling of Forward Osmosis membranes.
