Foteini holds a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from University of Thessaly (2020). She obtained her Master’s in New Food Product Development from Cardiff Metropolitan University (2022). During her theses, she focused on potential species-specific molecular target for Asian tiger mosquito control and the transcriptomic and aromatic profile during kiwi-wine fermentation, respectively. Post-graduation, she gained experience conducting microbiological analyses in food, water, waste samples in the private sector and as laboratory instructor of pharmaceutical practices in Higher Vocational Institute. In June 2024, she joined NRRE Laboratory handling yeast fermentations to determine optimal growth conditions and metabolic product detection.

Outside the lab, Foteini is a ballet dancer and loves reading books & manga.
