Alexandra graduated with a Diploma in Environmental Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace in 2015. In 2019, she graduated from Technical University of Denmark holding her MSc in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, where she mainly focused on the bioprocess development and optimization (upstream and downstream). In August 2020, she was accepted by a Marie Curie – Innovative Training Network (ITN) project, AgRefine and she started working for NRRE lab. In 2021, she started her PhD in the department of Chemical and Process Engineering at Technical University of Vienna under the supervision of Prof. Michael Harasek. Her research interests include Fermentation Processes, GMOs handling, Purification of biological products, Membrane Bioreactors and, Process Development and optimization.

Outside the lab, Alexandra has a passion for dancing and she is a folk dancer for more than 20 years. She also enjoys traveling and exploring places off the beaten track.
