Satellite-assisted Management of Air Quality (SMAQ) / Funded by European Commission, LIFE05/ENV/GR/000214

The SMAQ project aims at the development of an integrated system for efficient assessment, monitoring and management of air pollution in the larger area of Western Macedonia in Greece – an area with major lignite-fired power plants. Its overarching goal is to provide an advanced computational tool (the SMAQ System) for the benefit of authorities competent for air quality and public health management at the local, regional and national levels.
