Dr. K. Plakas, NRRE/CPERI/CERTH
Dr. S. Patsios, NRRE/CPERI/CERTH

- Mermigkas, TEDRA
The research results of the Work Packages WP2 and WP3, regarding the experimental tests conducted with the liquid fraction of the effluent of the Anaerobic Digestion process in combination with membranes (Memthane® technology) at BIZIOS S.A., were presented by the NRRE/CPERI/CERTH partners. The products of the proposed technologies have great potential of application in the fertilization of several crops. The construction of a pilot unit for the effluent treatment and the subsequent production of sufficient amount of the desired product(s) is already in progress. The pilot unit’s design was based on simulations, with input data originating from the laboratory experimental results. It was agreed that the project’s progress is quite satisfactory with the participants are looking forward for the process upscaling.
